I'm a freelance writer crafting articles across a wide range of genres, especially the women's and travel markets. My work has appeared in Good Housekeeping, AARP, Fodor's Travel and Next Avenue among other periodicals. Please click on the links above to see my vitae and selected clips.
My book, Life Lessons from the National Parks: Meeting God in America’s Most Glorious Places, came out for the National Park Service Centennial. Life Lessons from the National Parks received an Excellence in Editing Award from the Christian Editor Connection in 2017. The book's sequel, More Life Lessons from the National Parks: God's Still Present in America's Most Glorious Places, is coming out in fall 2023.
The Christmas Child, from Pelican Book Group, is my first fiction novel.
I was the first Artist in Residence for the Park Service’s Homestead National Monument of America. For my residency, I wrote and performed a one-woman show about a homesteader who meets formerly enslaved African Americans called Exodusters, who headed north after Reconstruction ended in the South.
Can you tell I’m passionate about our national parks? If you’d like me to share that enthusiasm with your library, senior residence or community group, I present a program called “Fascinating Stories from Our National Parks.” Please click on the Parks Presentation link above for a description and a list of venues where I’ve given the program, then contact me to book.
Lastly, I have a B.A. in theatre and worked in radio for several years.
