BEAUTIFUL SUNSETS

January 18, 2013

From the rising of the sun to its setting the name of the Lord is to be praised.  Psalm 113:3

The National Parks Traveler website conducts a Reader Participation Day every once in a while, and this week they asked people to share the best sunsets they’ve ever seen in the national parks.

Not surprisingly, most of the entries are from the western U.S. I’ve seen my share of sunsets in that part of the country, and have to agree. There’s just something about the sun sinking below towering, rugged mountains that makes for a spectacular scene.

I have many photos in the background of this blog, all shot by my talented husband (note to cousin Sue—see, I’m giving him credit!), but although they are lovely, I’m not sure there are any sunsets among them. I guess I need to encourage Joe to photograph some.

Anyway, this makes me think of the old saying—“Happiness is seeing a sunset, and knowing Who to thank.”

So…thank You, Lord, for Your beautiful creation!
