In my most popular program, I give an overview of our National Park Service, Illustrating how they showcase not only our great scenery, but also explain our past.The interactive talk starts with a quiz—but don’t worry! No grades, just fun, and I answer all the questions.

Learn about the Chief Executives who have dedicated sites in the Park Service. I survey these and other presidential-related places in the parks, including First Ladies and Mount Rushmore (why were those four chosen to be engraved in stone anyway?).

Our National Parks
From the District of Columbia to California, our parks celebrate the season of lights in a variety of ways, through historical reenactments, ethnic food festivals, and music. You’ll even find Santa Claus as well as a giant menorah, along with many dazzling illuminations.

November is National American Indian Heritage Month, and the Park Service showcases the rich—and often heartbreaking—stories of our country’s original inhabitants. I explore the Trail of Tears, artifacts from many Native cultures, plus individuals who played a part in this history.
